The International Green Week is the largest international agricultural forum. In 2006, there were 1,639 exhibitors from 53 countries of the world presented in the area of 115,000 square meters. The exhibition was attended by 410,000 people.
For the first time in the 13-year history of its participation in the Exhibition, the Russian Federation got the honorable status of a partner of this large-scale exhibition, which celebrated its 80th anniversary this year. The Russian exposition was located in a separate pavilion in the territory of 6,000 square meters, and traditionally it was the largest and most representative one at the Exhibition. As many as 400 enterprises were represented at 20 collective expositions of the Russian regions (6 expositions more than in 2005). Thirteen governors of the subjects of the Russian Federation took part in the Russian exposition. The Russian exposition was attended by a great number of officials from Germany and other countries. The total profit of the Russian exhibitors made up more than EUR 475 million.
The 72nd Green Week International will be held on January 19-20, 2007 in the territory of the Messe-Berlin Exhibition Complex.
Taking into account the previous positive experience of the Russian section, in 2007 Russia will also be widely represented at the Exhibition where European experts are able to assess the development of the agroindustrial complex in the country as well as the investment potential of Russian enterprises.
The presentation of the national exposition of the Russian agroindustrial complex at the largest agricultural exhibition enables national manufacturers engaged in the agricultural production to discover new opportunities to promote their products to the world markets of food products.
The Southern Federal District will be a partner of the Russian exposition at the Exhibition of 2007.
The goals of the Russian exposition at the International Green Week are as follows:
- expansion of trade and economic as well as research and technical relations of Russia with other countries;
- promotion of Russian agricultural products to the world market;
- participation of the Russian business community and political elite in the agricultural East-West Forum.
The main objectives of the Russian exposition at the International Green Week are as follows:
- demonstration of the export potential of the Russian agricultural complex and advanced high-end technologies;
- demonstration of the Russian agricultural sectors with its products being in high demand on the world market;
- analysis of the foreign food market;
- demonstration of the quality and environmental safety of Russian food products by the example of the best specimens of products manufactured by the leaders of the national agricultural market;
- demonstration of traditional products and beverages of different Russian regions produced on the basis of local raw materials and traditional technologies;
- search for new sales markets for Russian food products;
- demonstration of the main trends in the development of the Russian agricultural complex;
- demonstration of investment proposals for the agroindustrial complex of the subjects of the Russian Federation, enterprises and organizations operating in the agricultural sector of the economy in order to attract foreign investors;
- expansion of contacts among experts, exchange of professional information.
The subject of the Russian exposition at the International Green Week is as follows:
- introductory section of the Ministry of Agriculture with the demonstration of the implementation of the national priority project entitled Development of the Agroindustrial Complex;
- collective expositions of the regions of Russia with the demonstration of investment projects;
- research projects and advanced technologies in the agroindustrial complex;
- dairy products;
- meat products;
- bakery and pasta products;
- seafood and fish delicacies;
- deep-freeze products;
- food additives and ingredients;
- group of delicacy products;
- confectionery, pastry;
- ice-cream;
- fresh fruit and vegetables;
- wild and garden berries and mushrooms;
- bee-keeping products;
- alcohol drinks and non-alcohol beverages, beer;
- dietetic foodstuffs;
- traditional cuisines of Russian regions;
- souvenir products — the national Russian crafts.
Business program of the Exhibition:
The extensive business program of the International Green Week that includes a number of research and practical events will contribute to the establishment of mutually beneficial contacts between manufacturers and buyers from all over the world.
The major event of the Exhibition is the 14th international forum — East-West. Its goal is to develop partnership relations between the countries of Eastern and Western Europe in the area of the agricultural business.
By tradition, a part of the Exhibition will be the Day of Russia. During that day, it is planned to hold a press conference of Russian Minister of Agriculture A. V. Gordeyev. The most important meetings of the Russian delegation with official representatives of foreign countries, and the presentation of the Russian regions will also take place on the same day.
The cultural program of the Exhibition includes performances of folk groups, days of the national cuisine of the Russian regions, and trade fair of souvenir craft products.
